Stain blocker paint bunnings. It blocks stains ensuring they do not migrate through subsequent coats of paint and is ideal for blocking oil, grease and mould stains. I’ve sanded a lot off, but not to the point of being pristine. For interior and spot exterior use. I’ve since found out that you do need to use a stain blocker, when using chalk paint on an old piece.

Isolates and blocks the bleeding of marks and stains from water, oil, tar, soot, smoke or coloured pen. Primer by itself will not prevent the stain from travelling up the paint. Do a light sand and use the stain blocker primer that should do the trick.
